It is very important that you make sure your devices’ batteries are fully charged.

Don’t forget to turn off your Wi-Fi connection. If you fail to do this, your smartphone will constantly try to connect to wifi hotspots during the game, meaning you will regularly play without a network connection.

Inform the other players that it is best to wear comfortable outfits and shoes so they can comfortably walk around the city. Depending on the competitiveness of the participants, the walking or running distance might become increased.

Avoid large-scale events in the city. You may not find playing a DIY game during a mass event enjoyable. For example, you may not be able to get to a certain location because it is blocked off or the mobile network is saturated, so your data connection may fail. It’s best to choose another date or city to play the game in.

Last, but not least: Emphasise to all participants to pay adequate attention to traffic! Of course, we hope you get completely engrossed in the game, but we do believe safety is just a tad more important!

No, our DIY games cannot be paused.

Since most of our games are competitive in nature, we have chosen not to provide a pause button in the game.

For City Adventure and Snatch the Bachelor, you will have ample time to complete the course, including a short break. Whether you take a break can be decided among yourselves. The game time, however, will continue as usual.

No. We cannot stress enough that your phones should be fully charged at the start of the game. If you have a slightly older device and are under the impression that your battery runs out rather quickly, please play it safe and bring a power bank.

You need a game code to log into our DIY games. After receiving payment for your purchase, we prepare a game for you and forward your personal code. Enter the same game code on all devices you will be using to play the game. Once logged in, you will see the game area as well as the positions of the different teams. Everybody ready? Then give the go-ahead!

The Google Play Store and Apple App Store are home to an immense number of apps. Don’t go looking for our games at random, but use the direct download link found in the instruction sheet of the DIY game. You will receive it attached with the confirmation e-mail of your online purchase.

It is always useful to designate a game moderator in the group. We provide you with all the instructions to install and play the DIY game. The game moderator is advised to read through this document before playing. That way, you know what to look out for before the game starts and are able to explain the game rules to the other players. This ensures smooth proceedings.

No. Your code remains valid for 12 months. So if you don’t want to play the DIY game right now, you can definitely play it at a later date. Or why not give the game as a gift to someone?

You can play the DIY game whenever you want. The game code you purchased will remain valid for 1 year after the date of purchase. So you can play immediately after purchase or several weeks/months after.

No. These games are our do-it-yourself formula for private consumers. Their rates can be found on our website and include VAT. We cannot issue an invoice for this. The purchase confirmation you receive by e-mail can be used as proof of purchase if necessary.

No. For a DIY game code, you pay a fixed fee. This is not based on the number of participants, but rather on number of devices you will be playing with. You can find the rates on the game pages.

No. Your personal DIY game code will only be created once its payment has been processed via our website.

You can pay for your DIY game code purchase online using Bancontact or Visa.

Your personal DIY game code will be generated as soon as your payment is complete. So you can basically purchase your game code the same day. However, we recommend you still do this several hours or a few days in advance. This allows you to install the app in the comfort of your own home, read through the game instructions and start the game fully prepared.

No, we do not rent out equipment. DIY games are played on your own devices. When playing a game with Geoteam supervision, we provide all necessary equipment for the game.

A supervised game is reserved some time in advance. Seeing as you make an appointment with a game supervisor in the city where you want to play. They will bring all the equipment, as well as the instruction sheets, explain the game and remain available during the game for follow-up and any questions. What’s the benefit of a supervised game? You don’t have to prepare anything yourself! The price of such an accompanied game is naturally a tad more expensive.

DIY games are the do-it-yourself formula of our city games. That means you play the city game without a game supervisor and with your own equipment. Flexibility is key in this formula! You can play at a time that suits you and your friends best. Since you don’t have an appointment with a supervisor, you can easily start the game a little earlier or later than scheduled. Is it raining cats and dogs? Simply postpone your city adventure to a later date. After all, your code remains valid for 12 months.

DIY games are our do-it-yourself formula. For DIY games, you choose to play the game independently on your own smartphone(s). Therefore, we are not present during the game. Would you prefer to have guidance? Then opt for a guided city game. Enquire about availability via the contact form.

No. Downloading the app is free of charge. You only pay for the code you need to play the DIY game.

It’s very simple! On the game page, you can specify in the purchase box in which city you want to play the game in question, as well as in which language and on how many devices. Consider these carefully in advance, because after the final purchase, the game code is generated and these game aspects can no longer be changed. Paying for a DIY game code is done in the shopping cart.

That is entirely up to you! When purchasing your game code, you decide how many teams (devices) you want to play the game with in advance. This number cannot be increased after purchase. If you are playing with fewer devices on the day of, that poses no problem at all. Would you prefer to all go out together in 1 team or do you prefer to make it more competitive by playing against each other in different teams? All can be done! Moreover, you are free to decide the size of the teams. Make them as big or as small as you like. This allows you to keep your budget a little more under control.

What do we recommend you do?
Don’t make your teams too big so that everyone is still sufficiently involved in the game. But don’t make them too small either. Our DIY games are ideal as team activities where communication and cooperation are required. Besides, the city can be quite crowded. An extra pair of eyes on traffic or bystanders is no unnecessary luxury! 3 to 4 people per team seems ideal to us!

Want to inject more competition into the game and form more teams? That’s possible! In that case, you pay an extra €20 per additional team (device). When purchasing your DIY game code, you can very easily specify how many devices you want to play with.

Exception: Snatch the Bachelor is always played in 1 group!

A standard code for most games costs €49. This code allows you to play with 2 teams (devices) at the same time. For each additional team (device), you pay €20 extra.

You buy one code per DIY game. When playing with multiple teams, enter the same code on the different participating devices.

No. You play the DIY game in one or more teams. You only need 1 smartphone or tablet per team.

Yes. All DIY games are available for iOS devices, both iPhone and iPad.

Requirements for your iPhone or iPad:

  • has minimum iOS 6 as its operating system
  • has a SIM card that enables a 3G or 4G data connection (mobile internet via your mobile phone operator)
  • has a GPS connection

Yes. All DIY games are available for Android devices, both smartphone and tablet.

Requirements for your smartphone or tablet:

  • has at least Android 8 as its operating system
  • has a SIM card that enables a 3G or 4G data connection (mobile internet via your mobile phone operator)
  • has a GPS connection
  • Google Play Services is installed (normally included on your device by default)
